Our brother in faith Prof. Norbert Gutknecht fell asleep in the Lord on July 19, 2021, Pastor Gustavo Castellanos, Secretary of German Union, announced on the Facebook profile ‘Reformadventisten Österreich’ in German Union’s letter of sympathy on July 23, 2021. Earlier, Brother Wikler Moran published on June 24, 2021, his prayer on his Facebook profile: “Dear Father God, please, have mercy on my friend and brother Norbert Gutknecht in his serious condition due to COVID. Your perfect will be done in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
Prof. Norbert Gutknecht was Director at the Aachen Dental Laser Center, Department of Restorative Dentistry, and son of Pastor Siegmund Gutknecht (1918-2011), one of the best ministers at the IMS who served the Lord faithfully many years as General Conference President at IMS. Pastor Gustavo Castellanos wrote in his letter of sympathy about Prof. Norbert Gutknecht: “I am thankful that I have got to know you. Your courage and humbleness left a permanent impression in my mind. You was a man with a simple, humble heart who helped the weak and the poor persons…You dedicated your heart to the work of help in Africa…” The Word of the Lord says in Proverbs 19:17: “He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; he will reward him.” It means that the heavenly Father will resurrect brother Norbert Gutknecht for eternal life on the day of Christ’s second coming. That’s why we can have consolation in Lord’s word in Romans 14:8, last part: “If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
