Seven more Christians were baptized in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa, on July 7, 2019, Pastor Bright Dickson Fue who conducted the baptism, reported. Janet Adolf, Crister Peter, Adventina Kaguo, Mirriam Samson, Esther Peter, Daniel Chamade and Ezekiel Mtengeti made their covenant with God on the Indian Ocean coast, Pastor Fue, leader of Tanzanian Union, added.
Dar-Es-Salaam, which literally means ‘the house of peace”, had in the past the name Mzizma and was Tanzania’s capital until 1974. With its nearly 4,465 million inhabitants, as of the official 2012 census, Dar-Es-Salaam is the largest Swahili-speaking city and one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
Pastor Bright Dickson Fue, born in Dar-Es-Salaam, is, together with Pastor Parmenas Shirima, one of the leaders of the IMS SDA – Reform movement in Tanzania since the beginning of the 21st century. Today, the local Christian IMS church in Dar-Es-Salaam has 250 members, while the members in Tanzania are about 1000.
