Five souls, two sisters and three brothers in the faith of Jesus, were baptized recently in Vietnam, a socialist republic at the eastern edge of mainland Southeast Asia, and added to the IMS, Pastor Roland de la Paz, Leader of Asian Division at the IMS who performed the baptisms, confirmed today, on December 13, 2023, on Facebook.

Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV), is, with its population of over 100 million inhabitants, the world’s fifteenth most populous country and has an area of 331,700 square kilometers (128,100 sq mi). The country became a vassal of France in 1883, during the reign of the Nguyen dynasty, the last imperial dynasty of Vietnam. In 1945, the the nationalist coalition Viet Minh, inspired by the socialist revolutionary Ho Chi Minh, provoked the August Revolution and declared Vietnam’s independence.
