A brilliant Christian analysis on the climate changes predicted in the Bible was held yesterday, on August 17, 2026, during the traditional Q&A session at the IMS by Sister Raquel Orce, Director of the Publishing Department at the General Conference of IMS, the Facebook profile IMS SDA GC announced by publishing the session: https://www.facebook.com/reel/2293990018052291. Pastor Tzvetan Petkov, General Conference President at the IMS, was the moderator of the event.
In both her answers and power point presentation, Sister Raquel Orce underlined that the climate changes should be considered as part of the signs of the time, as a sign of Christ’s second coming. In addition, Sister Raquel Orce clarified that the seven plagues mentioned in Revelation 16 would be God’s intervention and a judgement, while the climate changes happened as a result of harming human activities. Furthermore, Sister Raquel Orce mentioned the biblical prediction about the groaning of the whole creation in Romans 8:22 and the wars between nations and kingdoms, as well as “famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places” prophesied in Matthew 24:7. Sister Raquel Orce explained as well that, according to mathematical calculations, if the polar ice sheets would be melting with the same velocity, the sea level would rise with 7 meters in 2050 which could mean poverty and migration of people on earth due to destruction of some islands and of a big part of the agricultural production, including due to the salinity rise of the water.
As a conclusion, we should, as Christians, pray to God for receiving Christ’s love in our minds, in order to be merciful as well to the nature God created and granted for our subsistence and happiness, because the Lord should “destroy them that destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18).
