Two souls, two sisters inn the faith of Jesus – Lucely Lara and Julia Escobar, were baptized today, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, were baptized by Pastor Anthony Torres Zegarra in Belmopan, the capital of Belize, a country on the north-eastern coast of Central America, sister Nectaly Vela from the local Christian church at the IMS confirmed. The daily temperature in Belize varied today from 31 to 33 degree Celsius which was the perfect weather for a Christian baptism.
Belize into whose area the Maya civilization spread between 1500 BC and 300 AD and flourished until about 1200, had today a territory of 22,970 square kilometers (8,867 sq mi) and a population of 397,483, as of 2022. The first British permanent settlement was founded around 1716 in Belize which gained its independence on September 21, 1981.
The natural resources of Belize include crude oil (since 2006) and important minerals, such as dolomite, barite (source of barium), bauxite (source of aluminium), cassiterite (source of tin) and gold, but none in quantities large enough to warrant mining. Limestone, applied for road construction, was the only mineral resource exploited for domestic or export use in Belize in 1990. The Belize Barrier Reef was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996.
