Adrian Simancas, a 24 years old kayaker, who made an excursion together with his father Dell Simancas out on the icy waters around Chile’s southernmost Patagonia region, was swallowed and then, several seconds after, spit out by a whale on Sabbath, February 15, 2025, CNN confirmed by publishing an interview with both Adrian and Dell Simancas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgSMJ88b6wg. In this way, Adrian Simancas had, for several seconds, a part of the experience of the prophet Jonah who was swallowed by a giant fish as well (Jonah 1:17).
However, there is a big difference between the two experiences: “Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights” as a sign for the stay of Christ in the tomb (Matthew 12:39-40) before His resurrection, while the escape of Adrian Simancas was only a good work of God on His holy day of rest, according to two Lord’s principles: “Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days” (Matthew 12:12) and “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on who I will have compassion” (Exodus 33:19; Romans 9:15).
