The 117 year old Maria Branyas Morera, an American-born Spanish super-centenarian of Catalan origin whose town of birth is San Francisco, California, USA, and whose date of birth is March 4, 1907, is today’s oldest verified living person in the world. According to the Wikipedia,  she married Joan Moret on July 16, 1931, and worked as a nurse and as her husband’s assistant until his death in 1976.

The age of Mrs. Maria Branyas Morera is also a confirmation of God’s promise in Genesis 6:3 – “Yahweh said, «My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; so his days will be one hundred twenty years.»”

For comparison only, Methuselah, the son of the patriarch Enoch who was taken by God without tasting death, the oldest human being in world’s history, lived nine hundred sixty-nine years: “All the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty-nine years…” (Genesis 5:27)
