One soul, a brother in the faith of Jesus, was baptized today, on Sabbath, May 8, 2024, in Vietnam, Southeast Asia, Pastor Roland de la Paz, President of the Asian Division at the IMS who performed the baptism, confirmed on Facebook. By the way, Vietnam shares maritime borders with the Philippines as well which is the native country of Pastor Roland de la Paz where he lives.

Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV), situated at the eastern edge of mainland Southeast Asia with a territory of about 331,000 square kilometers (128,000 sq mi) and a population of over 100 million, is the world’s fifteenth-most populous country.

The Han dynasty conquered Northern and Central Vietnam under Chinese rule from 111 BC, until the first dynasty emerged in 939. The Nguyen – the last imperial dynasty—surrendered to France in 1883, and in 1887 France integrated the territory into French Indochina which included three separate regions. Vietnam’s independence was  declared on September 2, 1945 under the leadership of the communist revolutionary Ho Chi Minh. The reunification of Vietnam happened on July 2, 1976 after the military victory of the communist North Vietnam over the anti-communist South Vietnam on April 30, 1975.
