About 10 persons have lost their lives and approximately 50,000 have been injured after Cyclone Batsirai provoked winds and rain in Madagascar on Saturday evening, February 5, 2022, BBC reported yesterday on its web-site https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-60264389. IMS has for sure church members in Madagascar, an island country in the Indian Ocean, about 400 kilometres (250 miles) off the coast of East Africa across the Mozambique Channel, as I met the delegate of Madagascar at the General Conference Delegates’ World Assembly in Ellecom, Netherlands, in 2002.

At that time, the delegate of Madagascar was not a pastor or consecrated elder, but a humble and gentle sister who reflected the noble character of Christ indeed. Our brethren in Madagascar need our prayers, because the news reveals that the wind storm has swept whole villages in that country. Because of cyclone in the city of Mananjary, there was destruction of buildings’ roofs, as well as lack of electricity and water supply for two days in that area, while in other regions, such as the city Nosy Varika, the destruction was about 95 percent, BBC added. When we pray earnestly for Madagascar, the Lord will protect our brethren there, because “the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.” (James 5:16, last part) However, the merit belongs to Christ who is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25)
